Information, Advice & Guidance

Career Connect is the advice, guidance and support service for young people aged 13-19 in school.
Enterprise South Liverpool Academy’s designated Careers Adviser is Carol Byrne (pictured). She supports ESLA students to help them to make well-informed, realistic decisions about further education, training and career pathways:
- By providing up-to-date information about labour market opportunities
- Offering CV and interview tips
- Giving details of different employment paths and apprenticeships
- Offering guidance about applying for College or University
- Identifying financial support and bursaries
- Signposting to volunteering opportunities
- Directing students to other sources of help for any other issues that may be affecting their home or school life.
Carol also works closely with Connexions who work with young people in school with additional needs because of learning difficulties or disabilities.
Connexions also supports young people aged 16-19 who are unemployed (up to age 25 for people with learning difficulties or disabilities) offering impartial information on any issues of concern.
